RISE Center Team at INACSL Conference.
Howdy Partners! The RISE Center team and RMU Faculty moseyed off to San Antonio, Texas this June for the Conference for
International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL). Dr.Valerie Howard, Director of the RISE Center and Dean for External Affairs, led the stampede in her roles as INACSL President as well as distinguished presenter.
RISE Center faculty member, Janice Sarasnick, and Simulation Technician, Chuck Simon, blazed new trails with their podium presentation on utilizing technology in simulation.
Donna McDermott, Director of the Standardized Patient Project, Dr. Valerie Howard, and Dr. Ken Gargaro, RMU Faculty, presented the “Given Circumstances” Model for Standardized Patient training to a full house.
Graduate student, Sangeetha Joy, and Donna McDermott promoted RMU’s new online simulation certificate program and rounded up some new students for the fall courses.
SNHS Faculty members, Dr. Janene Szpak and Dr. Kirstyn Kameg, won second place for their poster presentation on the use of simulation with nursing students prior to communication with mentally ill patients.
