Dr. Val Howard and RMU's Regional Rise Center is proud to host 15 delegates from the One Young World Conference on 10/20/2012. One Young World is an annual, international meeting of delegates under 30 that discuss how to positively intimate change and impact the world for future generations. Delegates show exemplary potential and demonstrate leadership on issues including business and its role in society, transparency, the importance of climate change, global health, and hunger relief. Pittsburgh is lucky to call itself home to the conference this year, which boasts at least 1200 delegates from over 170 countries.
Dr. Howard and the RISE Center staff are focusing their presentation on the importance of leadership using a simulation-based team building exercise. Additionally, RMU's School of Engineering Math and Science (SEMS) is offering a concurrent session for select delegates on Energy and Sustainability. Together with the SEMS department, we are looking forward to showing the One Young World delegates, the international community, and the world at large what the Rise Center offers and does on a daily basis, and how we here at RMU and in the RISE Center are positively changing lives.
