Happy New Year! The faculty and staff here at the RISE Center are excited and proud to announce that RMU is now a collaborator in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) funded RAVEN initiative. The RAVEN initiative was developed to help prevent avoidable re-hospitalizations among nursing home residents. This project, led by Dr. Joseph Angelelli and Dr. Valerie Howard, will provide resources for the RISE Center to develop and implement simulation training incorporating the INTERACT-III tools for the direct care workers in 16 long term care agencies across Western Pennsylvania.
Additionally, the RISE Center received funding from the Fine Foundation for the INSPIRE project: Integrating Nursing Simulation and Production to Improve Respect for Elders. Funds will be used to conduct simulation training in long term care settings and produce audiovisual materials to enhance person centered care for the elderly. The ultimate goal is to improve care for our elderly patients.
Please stay tuned for more information about the ever-evolving RISE Center environment!
